Osa Peninsula

The community is based in a tiny beach village called Ganadito which has no store, although there are a couple of bar-restaurants. The nearest village, El Progreso, is a pleasant 30-minute walk away and has stores where snacks, drinks and materials can be bought. The main tourist town of Agujitas is an hour’s walk away, but there are often opportunities to visit the town by taxi as part of tours or planned excursions. There are no ATM machines anywhere in Drake Bay, and no post office or large supermarket. While most purchases and can be made by card, it’s recommended to bring some cash in USD or CRC for local purchases and rural tours and excursions.

Loved it

May 11, 2023

Made so many awesome friends and the group leaders are amazing as well! Sometimes there were problems but everyone tried their best to fix them asap, really feel like I got my moneys worth! However I would say that it might be nice to be notified in advance about the prices of the activities, because i would have no idea that those would be an extra 350€, so maybe if all the activities were listed somewhere in an email with corresponding prices, people can prepare for that

I think I spend too little time in Santa Teresa. I only went out three times in the whole trip, wish there were more opportunities.

TRAVEL TO COSTA RICA

Costa Rica is well connected by air to other Central and South American countries, as well as the USA. The main international airport is the ‘Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría’, located 17km northwest of San José in the town of Alajuela. We can arrange for someone to meet you at ‘International Arrivals’ for an overnight transfer to a hostel conveniently located near the airport, and onward transfer the next day to Santa Teresa. (Arrival Package). For the transfer to Santa Teresa, we use our in-house driver or partner.

Entering the country:

visas are generally not required for stays of up to 90 days. However, it is important to ensure that you have a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the dates of your trip.

You will need to give your address in country because they will ask you about the place you are staying in upon arrival which is:

Jakera Adventures
500m oeste de Tropico Latino
60111 Santa Teresa Cobano, Puntarenas
And that you are traveling as a“ Tourist “

If you are arriving a day early:

You can book the arrival package as normal and book an extra night in San Jose. We will pick you up the same way, and you will arrive one day earlier at our hotel in San Jose where you can relax at the pool and wait for the others.
